2023 Shiraz
Grape Varietal— Shiraz
-
Deep ruby colour, displaying elegant and uplifting notes of red plum, boysenberry & mulberry jam. This classic Hunter Valley Shiraz shows a medium body with soft, earthly & savoury notes. The blend of new and used French oak gives this wine beautiful notes of clove and vanilla beans.
92 Points, The Real Review " Deep ruby core with a vibrant purple rim. Fragrant with blueberry and violet aromatics. Light to medium weight of purple fruits, lifts of floral notes and hints of musk and white pepper along the line. Acidity as much as tannin drives this wine, all carrying long, lively and fresh to the finish" - Stuart Knox

The Shiraz fruit was harvested in the cool of the night and came into the winery in pristine condition.
Fermentation was in a combination of small open fermenters which we plunged daily. The wine underwent malolactic fermentation on the skins before being racked into oak barrels, where it matured for 10 months before final blending & bottling. It is a very engaging wine to enjoy now and will develop with further cellaring.
