The core of plum and raspberry fruit is enhanced by flecks of Turkish delight, dark chocolate and blood orange. It is made from an equal blend of hand-picked, basket-pressed McLaren Vale and Broke Fordwich fruit, with the Broke Fordwich component undergoing a subtle ripasso over the McLaren Vale skins, adding extra layers, texture and complexity. The 2024 Basket Press Shiraz is a wine of both power and elegance, crafted from an equal blend of Broke Fordwich and McLaren Vale fruit. The Broke Fordwich portion underwent a subtle Ripasso technique over the McLaren Vale skins for four days during Easter, adding extra depth, complexity, and a nuanced textural layer. 30%of the wine was matured in new French oak, with the remainder in carefully selected seasoned barrels, allowing the purity of the fruit to shine. Fermentation took place in 2.5-tonne open French wooden casks, imparting gentle structure while preserving vibrancy.
