2022 Shiraz
Grape Varietal— Shiraz
-
Deep ruby colour, displaying elegant and uplifting notes of red plum, boysenberry & mulberry jam. This classic Hunter Valley Shiraz shows a medium body with soft earthly & savoury notes. The blend of new and used French oak gives this wine beautiful notes of clove and vanilla beans.
90 Points - The Real Review
"Medium ruby with a purplish edge. The nose is very regional with some of that traditional Hunter earth and sweet leather alongside raspberry-ish fruit. It's medium-bodied with attractive plumpness mid-palate, berry and anise-like flavours, good carry, and balanced fine tannins offering moderate finishing astringency."

The Shiraz fruit was harvested in the cool of the night and came into the winery in pristine condition.
Fermentation was in a combination of small open fermenters which we plunged daily. The wine underwent malolactic fermentation on the skins before being racked into oak barrels, where it matured for 10 months before final blending & bottling. It is a very engaging wine to enjoy now and will develop with further cellaring.
