2022 Chardonnay

Grape Varietal— Chardonnay

Pale gold straw in colour. This wine displays lifted aromas of stone fruit, citrus blossom and honeysuckle. Fresh white nectarine and ripe melon carry onto the palate with bright fruit intensity with a subtly integrated oak structure. Delicate hints of hazelnut are delivered by 9 months of maturation in puncheons and barriques.

Winemaking notes

The pristine fruit was picked at optimum ripeness in the cool of the night. The free-run juice was fermented with wild yeast in both new and aged French puncheons & barriques, plus a portion was fermented in stainless steel to maintain the lively fresh fruit characters. The wine matured for 9 months with regular stirring where 50% went through malolactic fermentation in barrels, before final blending and bottling. The resultant wine is a well-balanced, elegant modern Chardonnay.
